Geoffrey Bawa

THE LEGENDARY TOUR
Geoffrey Bawa
A world class architect and designer

It’s all about pure inspiration from the late world class architect, Geoffrey Bawa – visit the places he lived in, designed and drew
inspiration from. Bawa helped put Sri Lanka on the map as a country with an individual and sophisticated sense of style and produced sustainable
architecture long before it became a fashionable trend.

For decades, Bawa was Sri Lanka’s most influential architect and his own feelings about the country’s cultural heritage protected Sri Lanka’s
uniqueness from foreign influences. Even now, after his death, his standards and aspirations are revered by new generations of Sri Lankan architects
and, in the beautiful renovations of boutique hotels and villas he designed, his traditions are revered.

This tour will allow you to live in and get the feel of properties designed by Bawa and also comprises tours to the ancient kingdoms designed and
built by Sri Lankan kings – a mix of architectural splendour.
Continue onto the Last Kingdom of Ancient Ceylon – the city of Kandy and visit the Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya.
Whilst in Colombo, visit Bawa’s home and architectural studio – now Colombo’s most loved restaurant. Continue onto his country house overlooking
a sea of paddy, located near a beach resort in Bentota and end the tour in Tangalle at ‘The Last House’, which as the name suggests, was the last
villa designed by this world class architectural legend.
